New Fiorentina signing Igor says his inspirations are “Virgil Van Dijk, Sergio Ramos and Thiago Silva,” at his unveiling.
Igor was signed from SPAL on the final day of the January transfer window, and made his full debut in the 3-0 defeat against Juventus last weekend.
The defender was speaking at a press conference along with Viola director of sport Daniele Prade and was quizzed on the 21-year-old’s role models.

“I am inspired by many players: Van Dijk, Ramos and Thiago Silva. My goal is to grow and to reach their level,” said Igor.
Igor was given a surprise start against the reigning Italian champions last weekend.
“My job leads me to always be ready, even in my first match against Juventus. My teammates and the coach immediately gave me great support with the aim of making the most of the opportunity.
“I don’t know how long I will stay here in Florence, but what is certain is that I will give everything.
“I will give my life for this team. It’s a great squad and a fantastic opportunity for me.
“In this adventure I will always give my best.”
Igor states that Fiorentina’s ambition matches his own.
“Since I was a child I dreamed of playing in a great side. I also saw Fiorentina’s matches when I was younger and I was immediately happy with the possibility of coming to Florence.”
