Cagliari defender Fabio Pisacane said “racism is the evil of football” and has claimed we “give it importance” by talking about it.
The Rossoblu star was attending an event about immigration and integration in Cagliari and insisted that “we need to find another way” to deal with the problem.
He suggested to stop talking about it and not give it the attention to make it
“As long as we are talking about it, we will give it importance”, he said, according to Tuttomercatoweb. “We will continue into boredom.”
“Territorial discrimination and racism are the evil of football,” the 34-year-old continued. “The important thing is to live life as you like, let’s not talk about it anymore. We need to find another way.”
At the start of the season, Mario Balotelli was targeted by racist chanting during a game against Hellas Verona and Pisacane said he will always support the Brescia forward.
“I will stand up for [Mario] Balotelli every day. They insult us all, to take energy from us, to hurt us.”
