Parma coach Roberto D’Aversa is furious about the refereeing decisions that overshadowed his side’s defeat to Lazio. “You can all see it was a penalty.”
The Gialloblu went down to a goal from Felipe Caicedo, but it seemed D’Aversa’s side were denied a clear penalty.
“What can I tell you? From all the images you can see that it is a penalty,” D’Aversa told Sky Sport Italia.
“Tonight I struggled, you know what is the problem? When the lads are more honest in the league, you are a fool.
“It’s useless for the referee to be nice during the interval, he told Andrea Cornelius that he didn’t throw himself to the floor and that he’s the most honest player in Europe.
“I don’t like to create alibis for my players but tonight it’s hard not to. I repeat, it’s useless to be nice in the break.
“Evidently the referee didn’t go and check the VAR because he should have given the penalty.”
