Emiliano Viviano passed his medical with Inter, but it’s reported the club will wait a few days before deciding whether to sign the goalkeeper.

The 34-year-old is a free agent and can therefore be placed under contract even outside the transfer window.

With Samir Handanovic suffering from a hairline fracture to the little finger on his left hand and potentially out for several weeks, Daniele Padelli is the only available goalkeeper.

With Samir Handanovic suffering from a hairline fracture to the little finger on his left hand and potentially out for several weeks, Daniele Padelli is the only available goalkeeper.

Viviano was contacted this morning and rushed to undergo a medical, as he had been training with Sampdoria.

According to Sky Sport Italia, he is now going to train with Inter tomorrow, but a decision has not yet been made on putting him under contract.

Antonio Conte and his staff want to evaluate Viviano fully before committing to even a five-month deal.

There is also the issue of Handanovic, who requires more tests to see how long he really will be out of action for.

It’s reported if Viviano were to arrive, he’d be only an understudy to Padelli, who’d remain first choice.
