Sabatini: 'Orsolini worth €70m'

Bologna technical director Walter Sabatini reveals Juventus don’t have a set buy-back clause for Riccardo Orsolini. “It was never written down. He’s worth €70m.”

There have been numerous reports in recent weeks that Juve are planning to recall Orsolini to Turin for approximately €25m.

He was sold to Bologna for €15m in the summer of 2019, after initially joining them on loan in January 2018.

“In the negotiation process, we talked to Juventus about a possible buy-back option, but it was never written down, so it remained only verbal,” Sabatini told ETV.

“At the moment, it is unthinkable that he could be sold for the figures that have been mentioned in the media. We would discuss it with Juventus to ensure that everyone was happy with the situation.

“We are a strong club and, if the player were to leave, we would require compensation. In any case, we’re not thinking about his departure at the moment and he is not on the market.”

Sabatini gives a prediction as to how much Juve or any other club would need to shell out to sign Orsolini.

“The way I value him, Orsolini is worth no less than €70m. He is tracked by the Italy squad and I hope he can go to Euro 2020.”
