Szczesny to 'write history' at Juve

Wojciech Szczesny wants to “win everything” with Juventus after being rewarded with a new deal until 2024.

The Poland international extended his contract at the Allianz Stadium and said he has “sacrificed a lot” to become the first choice in goal for the Old Lady.

“I’m thrilled to have renewed my contract with Juve until 2024,” he told the club’s official website. “In the last years, I have sacrificed a lot to become a player worthy of wearing the historic No1 shirt of this great club.

“Now I’m ready to go even further and write a story for the history books.”

Szczesny arrived from Arsenal in 2017, after a stint on loan at Roma, and the goalkeeper revealed his favourite saves in the Bianconeri shirt.

“It’s a great feeling,” he said. “It demonstrates that the club has faith in me. I will try to give my best. I always try to approach the games with confidence and without pressure.

“I only like the saves in games I win. I enjoyed the one against Milan at the [Allianz] Stadium or the one from [Atalanta player Mario] Pasalic. My favourite this year was the one from Allan.”

The 29-year-old has kept six clean sheets in 16 Serie A games and has helped Juventus to fight for another Scudetto this season, but the former Giallorossi has revealed that he wants “to win everything”.

“I want to win everything. I will sweat, run and sacrifice to win all the titles. I thank the Juve fans for everything they give me.”

Juventus are back in action tomorrow, when they play Milan at San Siro in the first leg of the semi-finals in the Coppa Italia.
