Claudio Marchisio can imagine his future at Juventus, not necessarily as a coach, but confesses he “would like to have played with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

The now-retired midfielder spoke to DAZN about his plans now that he has hung up his boots in a career cut short by injuries.

“There are moments when I think that I could be a coach, because football was my life and I do often find myself analysing games with teammates, but analysing the game doesn’t mean you know how to be a coach,” said Il Principino.

“Simone Inzaghi really surprised me with his management skills, as he is doing so well at Lazio. As a rule, former strikers don’t make great coaches.”

There could always be a directorial role for Marchisio, who confirms he has a business helping players settle into new environments.

“I could imagine a future at Juve, of course, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. I am diversifying to help me understand what my future will be.”

He retired only recently, so has some regrets seeing the current Bianconeri squad.

“I would’ve liked to play with Ronaldo. Unfortunately, your choices in life can’t be tied to the players who are coming in. I have also been impressed by Rodrigo Bentancur and Paulo Dybala. I think Dybala is one of the five best Number 10s in Juventus history.”
