According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the latest consultation with specialists confirmed he will not need to go under the knife, but will be out for at least another couple of weeks.

Pastore remains a massive drain on Roma’s finances, as he is reported to earn €13m in wages for a five-year contract.

He has made only eight starts this season, plus another five appearances off the bench, for a total 725 minutes of football.

Il Tempo newspaper claims that Roma are ready to cut their losses and terminate his contract by mutual consent in June rather than attempt to sell him.

The 30-year-old was signed from PSG for €25m in the summer of 2018.
