Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini returned after six months out with injury, and says the "worst part is over."
Chiellini replaced Leonardo Bonucci in the 77th minute against Brescia to a standing ovation from the Bianconeri fans, and the defender says he is happy to be back.
“The worst part is over, now the difficult part arrives,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia.
“Today I needed an energy shock, thank you to everyone. Now I have to work a lot, I want to help my teammates.”
Chiellini’s side has struggled in recent weeks, but the 35-year-old doesn’t believe that to be the case.
“I find a team that are first in the league, well placed in the Coppa Italia and are in the last 16 of the Champions League. I thank my teammates for these five-and-a-half months.
“I hope to bring a wave of enthusiasm to those have played a lot.”
There has been speculation over Maurizio Sarri’s future in light of recent results, but Chiellini downplayed the situation.
“Sarri certainly doesn’t need me. Juve are united by the President down to the last member of staff.”
