But the winger came on to give Los Che some hope in the return leg, when his goal made sure Els Taronges at least brought one away goal back to the Mestalla.

“It was a game in which both teams had several chances to score,” he told UEFA.com after the final whistle. “We conceded many and weren’t clinical enough up front.

“But we have to think positively. Football always grants the chance to take revenge.”

The return leg will be played in Valencia on March 10 and the home side could have a host of players back from injuries when the Orobici travel to Spain.

It could be a completely different side in the second fixture of the last 16 next month.
