Gotti: 'Bologna better than last year'

Udinese coach Luca Gotti says Bologna are "on a different level" compared to last season, and he still "has doubts" on who will start against the Rossoblu tomorrow.

The Zebrette take on Bologna at the Stadio Dall’Ara on Saturday afternoon, with kick off at 14:00 GMT. You can read the match preview here.

Gotti states that the clash against Bologna is different compared to last season.

“Every game is fundamental. Since the start of 2020, Bologna have won a lot of points, except in the game against Genoa,” said Gotti in his pre-game press conference.

“Bologna in the last year have immediately transformed, and they have risen to another level in respect to their past.

“In any case, I expect 11 competitive players.”

Gotti revealed that he still has several doubts pertaining to who will play against the Rossoblu.

“I still have two doubts, but I will not say which players I am referring to. First I want to talk about it with the lads and I still have another day to think about it.

“If I speak well of one player, doesn’t mean I spoke ill of another, because the idea is to have as many available players as possible.”

The Zebrette haven’t won in Serie A since mid January, and Gotti says they are aware of this.

“We know we have this kind of need, and to underline it to the lads is unnecessary.

“What we have to do is work in the right conditions. If you understand this type of commitment and ideas will take us in the right direction, we must just continue.”

Gotti worked as an assistant coach at the Dall’Ara for three years, and says he is looking forward to returning.

“I had a great time in those three years in that city and with Bologna. There are people I feel close to at the club, but it has no impact whatsoever on what we will have to do.”
