The injury crisis is intensifying, with news Vincent Laurini has been ruled out by a calf strain, when he was meant to step in for Matteo Darmian.

“Dejan Kulusevski only resumed training yesterday, so I’ll decide at the last minute whether he should start or not,” said the coach in his press conference.

“Darmian did train with the squad, but is not in great shape. I have faith in the XI who will step on to the field.”

They won’t even have their coach to cheer them on from the touchline, as D’Aversa is suspended for an accumulation of cards.

“That is not helping and it’s disappointing. The team has been able to handle more important absences than mine. We must go to Torino with the same mentality as every other game, intending to bring home the maximum result. I am confident my team is mature.”

Torino are still trying to settle under their new coach Moreno Longo, who replaced Walter Mazzarri earlier this month.

“Longo and I are both young and ambitious coaches and we’ve crossed paths before when he was at Frosinone. We must take control of the situation and try to ensure Torino’s negative period continues.

“Toro will do everything to get out of this complicated moment and have quality players, but we have not achieved our objective yet and cannot afford to take this lightly.

“People talk of Europe, but until we have secured our Serie A status, everything is up in the air and can change very quickly.”
