Milan director Paolo Maldini says there is a renewal clause in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract should the Rossoneri make the Champions League next season.

Ibrahimovic arrived in the January transfer window and has made an instant impact at San Siro.

The Swede only signed a six-month contract, however Maldini says his stay in Milan can be extended.

“With Ibra his contract is six months with a clause inserted of automatic renewal in case we make it into the Champions League,” Maldini told Sky Sport Italia.

“If we don’t, it’s only natural that we will all sit at the table with him.

“With Ibra there is always a personal discussion in which there must always be an open dialogue.

“There always has been, otherwise he wouldn’t have arrived.”

Ante Rebic scored again for the Rossoneri, his sixth goal in seven games, but Maldini says there is no rush on permanently signing the Croat from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

“Rebic is on a two-year loan with us, so he will be here for next season, then we will see what happens.”
