The second choice between the sticks has received a lot of criticism after stepping up to try and fill the void left by the 35-year-old Slovenia international.

With Ionut Radu on loan at Parma after coming back from a spell at Genoa during the first half of the campaign, the former Torino man has been the only other recognised goalkeeper at Inter during the without Handanovic.

Inter have lost twice during the period without their captain in goal and will be boosted by his return this week.

Handanovic, who came from Udinese for €15m in July 2012, has kept seven clean sheets in his 21 games in goal this campaign and has registered a total of 114 games without conceding in 323 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
