The 73-year-old ended his experience at Barcelona last summer and has been without a club since his departure from the Catalans.

“Football is my life, I have always lived for football,” he told Tuttomercatoweb. “I have been without a job for a few months, too many. I think I have something to offer this world.

“With the experience I have accumulated at various levels. Many years at Milan, five at Barca, and I still have the same enthusiasm I always had.

“I don’t like to talk about the past, it gives me a feeling of being old. I think about the future, I try to see what I can do. Sometimes it’s right to look at what has been done, but we need to focus on tomorrow. I’m looking forward to the future.

He denies that he has been in touch with the Rossoneri about his own future but after 27 years at Milanello between 1986 and 2013, the former director has a natural link to the club.

“Milan haven’t contacted me,” he revealed. “I’m from Friuli and my mother always told me to never speak about others, just do your job well.

“If anyone wants to call me, the idea of me proposing myself is against my nature and my way of thinking. Anyone who wants, knows where to find me.”
