Inter are hoping to have Samir Handanovic back in goal against Juventus on Sunday, as the Slovenian could be back in training after tonight’s match.

The 35-year-old will have to sit out when Ludogorets arrive in Milan to play the return leg of the round of 32 in the Europa League behind closed doors at San Siro.

But the Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that the former Slovenia international will undergo further exams to confirm the progress and might be able to train with the rest of the group on Friday.

Handanovic has been out since the start of February and Daniele Padelli struggled to convince the Nerazzurri faithful, when he stepped up to fill the void left by the absentee.

The doors will be closed for the fans at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday, but Antonio Conte will leave it open for Handanovic to make his return in the big match between two title contenders.

Padelli will most certainly play tonight’s game against Ludogorets in the Euopa League, but Inter are, according to the newspaper, optimistic about Handanovic’s chances to play against the Old Lady.
