He claimed the elusive Champions League trophy has bothered him since he stopped playing and hopes to see his former teammates win the prestigious tournament.

“I’m not annoyed by not winning the eight Scudetto with the Bianconeri,” he told DAZN reporter Diletta Leotta. “I won the eight in a row in Russia.

“What bothered me a lot, was that I didn’t win the Champions League in such a successful cycle. I hope my former teammates can win it, they would deserve to win it after all the sacrifices they have done.”

Juventus started the knockout stages with a 1-0 defeat against Olympique Lyonnais in France on Wednesday and will play the return leg at the Allianz Stadium on March 17.
