Official: Juve-Inter doors closed

It is officially confirmed after today’s crisis meeting that Juventus-Inter, Udinese-Fiorentina, Milan-Genoa, Parma-SPAL and Sassuolo-Brescia will be behind closed doors.

The decision was made despite hopes and last-minute negotiations to get the restrictions on public events loosened amid the Coronavirus outbreak.

Over 580 cases have been confirmed in northern Italy, with 17 deaths, although all the fatalities were affected by pre-existing health conditions.

A statement from the Lega Serie A this evening confirmed there are no changes to the schedule.

The lockdown is set to last in several regions, including Piedmont, Lombardy, Friuli, Veneto and Liguria, until midnight on Sunday March 1.
