Radja Nainggolan felt Cagliari “proved that we are alive” during the 4-3 defeat to Roma on Sunday and conceded that they are “looking for answers”.

The fans were not happy with the club’s third defeat in a row and their 12th in a row without a win across all competitions, but the Rossoblu captain encouraged his teammates to continue the hard work and turn the tide.

“We have proved that we are alive,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We have always gone behind; we have conceded some unfortunate goals. Everything is going against us right now and there’s little to say or do.

“We just have to work and get back to the results as soon as possible. We are looking for answers.”

Joao Pedro scored twice and Gaston Pereiro once, but Cagliari didn’t manage to get anything from the game despite the three goals.

Nainggolan admitted that the Rossoblu will need to “do better” and points at the sudden change at the Sardegna Arena this season.

“Compared to other years, we started with 13 useful results and people expected more,” he added. “When there was continuity we were appreciated, now we are begin criticised.”

The former Roma and Inter star said he doesn’t want to think about what’s next for him personally and is focused on ‘finishing the League’ with Cagliari.

“I’m not thinking about anything, now I just think about finishing the League and give my all for Cagliari.

“When things go wrong, it’s not easy, we work to get answers. We have lost balance and we have to find it again.”
