“I always work for the team; we are 11 players and I’m not alone. We created many opportunities and I scored two goals. I’m very happy, I must continue like this.”

Kalinic admitted that he “didn’t play much” at Atletico Madrid either and is open to play alongside Edin Dzeko if coach Paulo Fonseca would like to try.

“I didn’t play much with Atletico either, in a year and a half, I only played six to seven games,” he said. “Let’s see how it goes, the coach decides but I’m always ready to play.

“If I feel good, I play well. I always train in the best way. We all had a great game, but now we are looking ahead.

“It is always difficult to play here; we are working well. We knew it was a tough game to win, but we all want to give 100 per cent to continue like this.”
