UEFA: 'No cancellation for now'

President Aleksander Ceferin has revealed that UEFA are “following the decisions” of the “individual states” amid rumours about postponing Juventus-Lyon.

The match should be held at the Allianz Stadium on March 17, but the coronavirus outbreak has put sporting events at risk of getting cancelled and postponed to a later date.

The Champions League is on exception and the President Ceferin has revealed that the tournaments governing body will follow the guidelines from the respective countries involved.

“We are following the evolution of the epidemic carefully,” he told L’Equipe. “There’s currently no cancellation of any consignment.

“But we will follow the decisions that will be made in the individual states.”

Juventus had their meeting with Inter on Sunday postponed and are currently preparing to face Milan with partially open doors.

The match between Juventus and Lyon could go ahead behind closed doors and Olympique Lyonnais patron Jean-Michel Aulas even suggested to play on a “neutral ground”.
