Lautaro has impressed by scoring 12 goals in 21 Serie A games this term and Crespo has claimed that he really revelled in the absence of former captain Mauro Icardi, who left for Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

“I would like him to say at Inter for a while, because I have affection for the Nerazzurri,” he told FOX Sports. “He started playing this year because Icardi left and he exploded.

“I wish he will stay a little longer, two or three years. Then, the market is another thing.”

Crespo played 116 games for Inter and scored 45 goals in the Nerazzurri shirt. He scored 154 goals in 340 Serie A games after other spells at Parma, Lazio, Milan and Genoa.
