“We played some good football against Lecce and Juventus, so during this extended break between games, we tried to focus on the positives in training and build up our courage,” said the coach.

“I am happy with what I’ve seen, but training well and even playing well isn’t enough. We need to start picking up more points, as there’s no time left to hang about. We hope to close the gap on the teams ahead of us in the table as soon as possible.”
Parma are challenging for a place in Europe, whereas SPAL are rock bottom of the Serie A table.
“The Ducali have been at a high level for some time and are incredibly consistent, with a well-drilled style of football and some star players. Like all teams, they have weaknesses too and we will try to hit those spots.”
All the Serie A games until April 3 must be played behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
“It’s going to be a surreal situation, ugly in a sporting sense and worrying on a human level. We just hope everything can be sorted out as soon as possible.
“In a way, focusing on the football allows you to lock out what’s going on outside and we try to just keep working.”
Gabriel Strefezza sits out a ban, with Federico Di Francesco and Bryan Dabo injured.
