The latest effectively restricts the movement of people living in the Lombard, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto regions of Italy, unless for “unavoidable work commitments or emergencies.”

The decree was issued in the early hours of this morning.

The provinces of Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Pesaro and Urbino, Venice, Padova, Treviso, Asti, Rimini, Alessandria, Vercelli, Verbano Cusio Ossola and Novara all fall under the latest decree.

The order will stand from today until April 3.

As of writing, there are 5,883 confirmed cases of the virus in Italy, with the death toll now surpassing 230.
