At that moment, the referees called them back into the dressing room, having received the call that the Minister for Sport and FIGC were considering a total suspension of the Serie A season.

Instead, after a 35-minute delay, it was announced the game would go ahead and – presumably – so will the rest of this weekend’s fixture list with the usual kick-off times.

The new kick-off is now 12.45 GMT, 13.45 local time, and the players are currently warming up.
