Juve pushed to have this game postponed last week rather than play behind closed doors, but the Coronavirus epidemic increased rapidly and now all the Serie A matches are in these circumstances.

“It’s all a little strange, a little sad to play football in these conditions, sad for the fans and the players, because an event like this is one they wait all week to enjoy. It’s all a bit sad,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.

“We trained in the empty stadium yesterday to get accustomed to the situation, but to be honest, I don’t think we can ever really get used to it.”

It’s very likely the Serie A season will be suspended after Tuesday’s emergency summit with the Lega Serie A, FIGC, Players’ Association and Minister for Sport.

“Our position is that Juventus will respect what the authorities indicate. Players would love to play in different conditions, we all would, but we all understand that this is the situation and we must behave responsibly to help ensure it passes as quickly as possible.”

Paratici was asked about some of Maurizio Sarri’s choices this evening, dropping Miralem Pjanic and Paulo Dybala.

“The coach rotated the squad, he makes difficult decisions every week, but they are always correct. We’ve played some excellent games this season, with different personnel and systems, so we have no concerns.”
