As expected, Italy’s friendlies with England and Germany have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

With all five of Europe’s top leagues shutting down, the decisions became inevitable.

The Azzurri had been due to play England at Wembley on March 27, then travelling to Nuremberg for the Germany match on March 31.

Germany had already ordered that game played behind closed doors, but it has now been cancelled altogether.

When the England FA announced a shutdown, it included the international games, Premier League and Championship.

It’s widely reported Euro 2020 will be postponed to next year after Tuesday’s UEFA summit.
