Final Four option for UEFA?

According to reports in Spain, UEFA are considering a Final Four style tournament in Istanbul and Gdansk for the Champions League and Europa League.

Time is running out to complete the various club tournaments, even if Euro 2020 is postponed this summer.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced all football to be shut down in Europe’s major leagues and it’s not yet clear when they will be able to resume.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, UEFA will propose a new structure to get the Champions League and Europa League finished more quickly.

It would be a Final Four structure based in one city, where the Final was meant to be, so in the case of the Champions League Istanbul and Gdansk for the Europa League.

A draw would pit two semi-finalists against each other in one-off knockout games, then coming together for the Final.
