UEFA could, according to Corriere della Sera, move the European Championship to November, and model Euro 2020 on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
European football has been suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the world of football eagerly await the decision about how to proceed and make up for the the current delay.
One of the most important decisions will be discussed during a conference call between UEFA and the respective Leagues tomorrow, Tuesday March 17, and the outcome for Euro 2020 will have an impact on the proceedings also for Serie A.
Corriere della Sera claims that a similar approach to the 2022 World Cup will be one of the hypotheses for the next European Championship, if the League will start again on May 2.
The report suggests that the option of moving the tournament scheduled to take place from June 12 to July 12, will be pushed to a later date, but still remain in 2020.
The newspaper reports that there are “no doubts” about the postponement of the tournament but has moved away from the idea of rearranging the Finals in June 2021, claiming that it could take place from November 23 to December 23 in 2020.
