The crisis has not only shut down all club football and most sport around the world, but also today forced the postponement to next June for Euro 2020 and the Copa America.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that “thanks to its solid financial situation, FIFA is in a position to propose proactive solidarity measures specifically targeting the coronavirus disease crisis.

“Concretely, I will therefore also suggest a direct USD 10 million contribution from FIFA to the World Health Organisation WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and discussing the possibility of establishing a Global Football Assistance Fund to help members of the football community affected by this crisis.”

Meanwhile, La Stampa confirm the Agnelli family and their various businesses have donated €10m to help local authorities deal with the crisis, and are also purchasing 150 respirators from abroad to be delivered to hospitals in the Piedmont area.

This is separate to the fund-raising initiative previously announced by Juventus.
