The coronavirus pandemic has forced a complete reshuffle of the entire football calendar and it is still in flux as we wait to discover how long it’ll take to get back to playing regularly.

The Azzurrini had been due to play Luxembourg and Sweden later this month in qualifiers for the European U21 Championship.

These are moved on a preliminary basis to early June, but a statement from the FIGC confirmed even “the final phase of the U21 European Championship, scheduled for summer 2021, will also be evaluated in the coming meetings.”

That period has now been assigned to the delayed Euro 2020, meaning players who are eligible for both tournaments would have to choose.
