Gonzalo Higuain caused controversy when he was allowed to fly out to Argentina this week, followed swiftly out of Italy by Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira.

Now multiple sources state Douglas Costa has also been given permission by the club to go back home to Brazil.

Pundits, fans and now even lawyers have raised questions about whether this should be allowed, especially as Juventus have had two positive tests in their squad.

Daniele Rugani was the first to be confirmed with Coronavirus on March 11, followed by Blaise Matuidi, so 121 members of the club including players, staff and President Andrea Agnelli went into what was supposed to be a 14-day quarantine period.

However, now the Bianconeri insist it was only a ‘voluntary’ self-isolation and therefore not subjected to specific deadlines.

Coronavirus has a very long incubation period compared to a regular influenza, so symptoms might not appear for around 14 days.

Higuain and the other players have tested negative, but the quarantine period is not meant to expire until March 25.
