The Coronavirus outbreak has painted a horrifying picture in Italy and the measures taken has left the country at a standstill.

Albertini was capped 79 times by Italy during his illustrious career – including spells at Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

The former Rossoneri midfielder, who picked up five Scudetti and three European Cups, including the Champions League in 1993-94, during his spell at Milan, is sure the country will end up on top in the battle against the Coronavirus.

“Our country is playing one of the most important matches in history,” he told Marca. “We Italians are forced to defeat the most difficult of rivals: COVID-19.

“We will need to give our best, but in a short time we will be able to say with pride that we have won against a great enemy.”
