Inter are allegedly interested in Newcastle starlet Matthew Longstaff, who will be available on a free transfer this summer.
The 20-year-old has yet to extend his deal with the Magpies and coach Steve Bruce has previously claimed that he hopes the club can come to an agreement with the young midfielder.
The Sun claims that the Nerazzurri have joined the race for the players signature but writes that they face competition from clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Ajax on the continent.
In the UK, West Ham and Everton have also been mentioned in links with the England Under-20 international, who has played 12 games for Newcastle in his breakthrough season with the Tynesiders.
The newspaper reports that the player has decided to change agent to sort out his future. Longstaff has scored twice in seven Premier League matches this term, both against Manchester United.
Longstaff also scored in the FA Cup replay against Rochdale in January.
