The mother of Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has tragically passed away after contracting coronavirus.
Dolors Sala Carrio, a native and resident of Barcelona, was aged 82.
“Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family and all their friends,” City wrote in a tweet.
It comes just two weeks after Guardiola donated €1m to Spain’s fight against COVID-19.
