The daily coronavirus death toll in Italy has risen to 636, but the number of new cases and ICU admissions have fallen.

The number of new deaths has risen from the 525 recorded on Sunday, but the rate of active cases and those entering intensive care have dropped in that time.

Another encouraging sign sees more patients having recovered from COVID-19 compared to 24 hours ago.  

As of Monday, there have been 132,547 positive tests of coronavirus (+3,599), with 93,197 of them currently active (+1,941).

Another encouraging sign sees more patients having recovered from COVID-19 compared to 24 hours ago.  

As of Monday, there have been 132,547 positive tests of coronavirus (+3,599), with 93,197 of them currently active (+1,941).

A total of 22,837 people has recovered (+1,022) and 16,523 have died.

Out of the 93,197 active cases, 60,314 are in self-isolation (+1,994), 28,976 are in hospital with symptoms (+27) and 3,898 are in intensive care (-79).

There have now been 721,732 tests, an increase of 30,271 since yesterday.
