Defender Simone Iacoponi has claimed the forced break has prevented Parma from finishing the season on a high: “We were in a good moment.”
The centre-back has been an ever-present for the Gialloblu, who are ninth in Serie A and four points behind Napoli at sixth.
And the 32-year-old revealed that the Ducali felt confident ahead of the run-in and ‘could have ended the championship on a high level’.
“We were in a good moment, we could have ended the championship on a high level,” he told La Gazzetta di Parma. “However, to complain about the interruption of the tournament would not be respectful of those who are currently fighting a much more important battle.
“Doctors and nurses are doing something that’s difficult to even imagine, I want to thank them. I try to respect the rules and do my part, as everyone should do.”
