Castilla also insists there is substance to a transfer and that it is ‘not just a dream’.

The 32-year-old would revive his legendary rivalry with Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo if he joined the Beneamata.

However, the reporter warns there is also an offer on the table from Newell’s Old Boys – Messi’s hometown side.

Leo has only one year left on his contract amidst signs of strain in his relationship with Barca, although his current deal makes him the world’s best-paid player on €70m before tax a season.

As for Almada, Castilla claims Inter are in talks with Velez over a €25m transfer and are in ‘the driving seat’ for his signature.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder/winger is considered a huge talent in his native Argentina and has already scored nine goals in 45 first-team appearances.
