Milan face strong competition from Schalke 04 for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, according to reports, as his price-tag drops to €35m.
The Poland international is only under contract until June 2021 and negotiations over an extension have been all but abandoned at this point.
He is widely expected to move on in the summer and Milan were the primary contenders.
However, Tuttomercatoweb claim that Schalke 04 have stepped up with a proposal worth €25m.
It’s a long way off the asking price, but the same source suggests Napoli are prepared to accept €35m rather than the original €40m fee.
All transfers are going to be affected by the coronavirus outbreak and the financial damage it is doing to clubs all over the world, so in general, asking prices are expected to go down.
Napoli paid €32m to get Milik from Ajax in 2016, but he already has experience in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen and FC Augsburg.
