Inter have reportedly targeted Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso as Samir Handanovic’s future replacement at the Giuseppe Meazza.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the 25-year-old Argentine has been singled out as the best candidate for the position at Inter but, in the event of a transfer, he will have to wait for his chance to shine.
The Nerazzurri are preparing to renew with their first-choice goalkeeper Handanovic and tie him to a new contract until June 2022, despite the former Slovenia international turning 36 this summer.
Musso has been remarkable for the Friuli since his arrival in 2018 and Lautaro Martinez’ former teammate from Racing Club could, according to the newspaper, be the solution to coach Antonio Conte’s worries about not having the back-up needed in case of emergency.
In fact, Handanovic has been troubled by injury of late and Daniele Padelli came in but struggled to convince when awarded the opportunity to shine.
Musso has a contract until 2023 at the Dacia Arena and earns €400,000 a year and his performances in Serie A earned him his first cap by Argentina on March 26, 2019.
“I have read different things about my future, but I don’t know anything,” Musso revealed, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’m quiet. It’s nice to hear voices but there’s nothing. If something interesting should come up for me and for Udinese, we will think about it.”
