Lapo Elkann: 'Time to give back'

Lapo Elkann, one of the heirs to the Agnelli family fortune, said the Juventus owners must lead the way during the coronavirus crisis. “I am privileged, so it’s time to help the country.”

The brother of Exor President John Elkann spoke to Tuttosport about the donation to local hospitals, as well as Juventus players taking a pay cut.

Lapo Elkann is famously the playboy of the Agnelli family, in the headlines for his outrageous style choices and excessive partying more than any business innovation.

“I am an extremely privileged person, I grew up in financial comfort, so it’s time for people like me to get to work, give back, help the country as much as possible,” said Lapo.

“From art to Ferrari, we are a great country. I see resilience and strength from everyone, but I must give a more concrete contribution.

“Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Agnelli worked together to get the squad to dock their salaries and it was an exceptional gesture. Now everyone is imitating us.

“Andrea is the best President I’ve ever seen at Juve, he is always one step ahead.”
