Newcastle United are linked with a surprise move for former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, according to SportMediaset.
Saudi Arabian Mohammad bin Salman’s investment group are allegedly close to taking over the Magpies and according to the Italian outlet, they have put Allegri at the top of their wish list.
SportMediaset claims Allegri could eventually end up in the Premier League after his sabbatical year away from football and reveals the Saudi Prince has great ambitions for the Tynesiders.
They have allegedly targeted Allegri and are prepared to give him the resources to add some big names to the squad at St James’ Park.
The former Milan coach, who has won a total of six Scudetti, four Coppa Italia and three Supercoppa Italiana, has previously revealed that he has been studying English to be ready for a move abroad.
But will he wait for a top team from the Champions League to become available or jump at the proposed chance of starting a new project in North East England?
