Deschamps: 'I would adopt Juve model'

France CT Didier Deschamps has revealed he would adopt a similar model to the one used by Juventus if he was coaching in club football.

The World Cup 2018 winner spoke to the French newspaper L’Equipe about the current emergency.

“It’s a very complicated period, families are in mourning, others await news about loved ones who are fighting for their lives,” Deschamps told L’Equipe. “It’s truly terrible and the suffering of all these people makes me sad.

“Doctors and nursed are doing their utmost to fight the epidemic and the least we can do is keep the restrictions to the maximum.”

The former Juventus midfielder has revealed that he if he trained a club rather than a national team, that he would set up a model similar to the Bianconeri.

“I would follow the Juve school, where you train a lot and at a very high level to get results,” he said and continued to point out that he never used any colleagues in football to inspire his own approach.

“Even as a player, the etiquette never interested me. I knew what I had to do to be useful for my team.

“It’s useless to say I will do like [Arrigo] Sacchi, [Johan] Cruyff or [Pep] Guardiola, you must have the means to play certain types of football and every coach is judged on their results.”
