Chile CT Reinaldo Rueda has revealed that Barcelona midfielder ‘has a chance of going back to Italy’.
Vidal has been heavily linked with Inter for some time, and Rueda hinted the Nerazzurri were still very much keen on the 32-year-old.
“Arturo Vidal’s an outstanding player. He’s shown it in Germany, in Italy and now in Spain,” he told Sport.
“He transmits character and personality, in addition to good technique and physicality. He’s a monster in that sense.

“For us it was a great satisfaction when he signed for Barca, for what they mean around the world.
“Given how mature he is and the demands he places on himself, he’ll always want to be a leading light.
“He gets very anxious when he’s not playing regularly. He’s always been used to playing a leading role.
“When he joins up with the national team, I try to guide him well, not to lose control, to prepare 500 percent.
“I’m sure he’ll assess what each club is offering him. I still think he’s very happy at Barcelona.
“The fans have treated him very well and I hope he’ll be the main man wherever he goes, like he always has been, and in perfect condition whenever he joins up with the Chile team.
“As far as I know, he has a chance of going back to Italy. Dortmund were very, very interested in him recently, but none of it is concrete so you have to be patient.
“Barca have a DNA, a philosophy embedded deeply in their squad. That fresh air which came with the new coach has done Arturo a lot of good.”
Dortmund aside, overseas interest has also come from English sides Manchester United and – if their Saudi takeover goes through – Newcastle United.
