Roma have categorically denied speculation that they could sell Edin Dzeko at the end of the season.

Corriere dello Sport ran a report this morning that claimed Dzeko’s €7.5m salary was a problem for Roma, to the extent he would have to accept a pay cut to stay in the capital.

However, the Giallorossi told ANSA: “AS Roma are extremely satisfied with how Edin is playing the role of captain, even more so at such a delicate time.

“There’s no strategy in place to change his future, which is at Roma, nor has the club thought about reviewing its agreements with the player.

“News about other contract renewals, published by some press outlets, are completely without foundation.”

The 34-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided nine assists in 32 appearances for the Lupi this season.
