Now, it has been confirmed that the Eredivisie will not fulfil its nine remaining rounds of fixtures, with no league winner for the first time since 1945.

Ajax and AZ finished joint-top on 56 points and cancelled one another out in terms of goal difference and head-to-head record.

However, Ajax qualify for the Champions League directly by the virtue of their superior goal difference, which carries more weight than head-to-head record.

AZ must negotiate the 20-21 Champions League playoffs, while Feyenoord, PSV and Willem II all go into the Europa League.

Down the bottom, ADO Den Haag and RKC Waalwijk stay up in the absence of second-tier teams winning promotion.

Serie A, on the other hand, is working towards resuming training on May 4 with a view to restarting games by early June.
