Milan forward Rafael Leao has donated 24,000 face masks to a Portuguese hospital in its fight against coronavirus.

The supply was sent to Hospital Garcia de Orta, based in Leao’s hometown of Almada, Lisbon.

“To the footballer and also his father, Antonio Leao, Hospital Garcia de Orta is grateful for the offer,” the facility said in a statement.

The 20-year-old is currently back in Portugal, with Serie A still on pause as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He moved to Milan last summer from Lille, in a deal worth around €35m, and has scored two goals in 22 appearances this season.
