Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla went from ball-boy to Serie A star and reveals Juventus striker Paulo Dybala was his toughest opponent.

The centre-back, who was born and raised in Italy but plays his international football for Albania, spoke on an Instagram Live interview about his career path.

“I have to thank Ivan Juric. I am living a dream come true,” said Kumbulla.

“I was a ball-boy at the Stadio Bentegodi and will never forget a day when I was on the sidelines for a 3-0 victory over Genoa, with Luca Toni’s brace.

This is only the 20-year-old’s debut Serie A season, so who is the toughest opponent he has come up against so far?

“Dybala is the most difficult forward for me to mark. As for Cristiano Ronaldo, I have always preferred Leo Messi. In my view, the best defenders in the world are Virgil van Dijk, Giorgio Chiellini and Sergio Ramos.”
