Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan has interest from clubs in France, Italy, Germany, England and Spain, said his agent. “Milan is Milan, though.”

The 19-year-old plays primarily as a centre-back, but can also work on the right side of defence.

“There are many clubs interested in Simakan, going back to January: French, Italian, German, English and Spanish clubs,” agent Badou Sambague told Calciomercato.it.

He is believed to be a target for Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

“Mohamed is in no rush, he knows the importance of taking one step at a time. I am not sure what the price-tag is either, because Strasbourg really believe in him and it won’t be easy to convince them for a sale.

“He’s not so much interested in the country as the project of that club. We know that Italy is the best school for young defenders. Plus, Milan is Milan, while Paolo Maldini is Paolo Maldini… These are two huge names in the sport.”

Maldini is still the Rossoneri’s team manager, although how long he will remain in that role after Zvonimir Boban was sacked remains to be seen.
