Atalanta captain Papu Gomez has helped set up a new charity project called The Biggest Game, with players from all over the world – not just football – donating items.

“I started this project 20 days ago: we got over 100 sporting figures from all over the world together to fight the coronavirus. I thank all those who participated,” wrote Gomez on his Instagram page.

It was set up with Shirtum and is practically an online raffle for jerseys – or shoes.

The athletes donate an original jersey worn during their career and fans will make their donations by purchasing "tickets" and taking part in the raffle.

Each ticket will be represented by a digital token with the image of the jersey.

The more tokens a fan has, the better chance they will have of winning in the draw.

Every player who donated an item chooses with hospital the funds raised from his shirt will go towards.

Participants include Giorgio Chiellini, Paulo Dybala, Virgil van Dijk, Ivan Rakitic, Alvaro Morata, James Rodriguez, Joaquin, Radamel Falcao, Andres Iniesta, Luka Modric and Dani Alves.
